Biomarker: PDG (Pregnanediol Glucuronide)

What is PDG?

PDG (Pregnanediol Glucuronide) is a urinary metabolite of progesterone, the hormone that rises after ovulation. Progesterone plays a key role in preparing the uterus for implantation and maintaining early pregnancy. PDG levels rise 24–36 hours after ovulation, making it an excellent marker for confirming that ovulation has occurred.

How Does PDG Confirm Ovulation?

Unlike LH tests that predict ovulation, PDG confirms it has actually happened. A rise in PDG — typically sustained over several days — is a sign that the body released an egg and is producing progesterone, an essential part of a healthy menstrual cycle and fertility.

How Does the PDG Rapid Test Work?

Our PDG rapid test uses a simple urine sample and delivers results in under 10 minutes. It’s easy to use at home — similar to a pregnancy or ovulation test — and is best taken in the second half of the cycle (days 7–10 after ovulation).

Who Should Use This Test?

  • People trying to conceive
